Every website-link code and every contact-card (vCard) code you create counts as one dynamic code. That’s the number the Free plan limits to five. Deleting a code frees up its slot. AR ads are counted separately and need the Pro plan. Pausing a code doesn’t free its slot, because it can be switched back on at any time.
Yes, from Plan & billing in your dashboard. Moving up from Dynamic to Pro happens straight away: you pay the prorated difference for the rest of the month and AR unlocks immediately. Moving down from Pro to Dynamic switches your plan straight away, and the price difference is settled on your next bill. Your AR ads keep scanning; you just can’t make new ones.
Nothing breaks. Your account moves to Free at the end of the period you’ve paid for, and every code you made keeps scanning and forwarding, even if you have more than five. You won’t be able to add new codes past the Free limit, add a new logo or make new AR ads until you upgrade again.
Payments go through Polar, our payment provider and merchant of record. Polar takes the card payment, works out sales tax or VAT for your country and sends the receipt. We never see or store your card number. Invoices, card changes and cancelling are all in the billing portal linked from your dashboard.

No. Create an account with your name and email and you can make five dynamic codes straight away. You only enter card details if you choose Dynamic or Pro, and that happens on Polar’s checkout page.
